Vera Jónás

Fonogram and Artisjus Award winning singer-songwriter.  Vera has toured with her band, Vera Jonas Experiment in Asia and all across Europe, regularly playing in Austria,Germany, Belgium, Romania, Slovakia and the Netherlands. For example, the band performed three shows at Eurosonic 2017 and played at South Korea’s Zandari Festa, while also being regular guests at Hungarian Festivals like Sziget, VOLT, Művészetek Völgye, Fishing on Orfű, Campus, Örvényeshegy Piknik, or Woodstock az Ugaron. The first album, GAME was also released in Japan where they toured in the spring of 2015. She graduated from the London Centre of Contemporary Music School in 2012. She was handpicked to the OneBeat program sponsored by the US Department of State, participated in a two-week workshop in Florida, and toured the Eastern Coast of the US.

Máriusz Fodor

Máriusz has been writing songs and composing music since he was 14 years old. He has been working as a composer in the advertisement industry for 15 years. He has written music for 1000+ campaigns, his clients include McDonalds, Coca-Cola, Erste, Borsodi, Pöttyös, Telekom, Vodafone, MOL, Spar and many more. Last year he launched Banana Records music company together with Kamau Makumi, searching for and supporting upcoming young talents with the support of Universal Music Hungary. Currently he is working on a self-initiated electronic music project, Superflake, with its first album coming out in 2021.

Szabolcs Czeglédi

Szabolcs is program director of Akvárium Klub since 2019 and head of music program management at Bánkitó Fesztival. As manager he works with bands Galaxisok, Middlemist Red and Platon Karataev. He is also a promoter representative for Sziget Festival and Budapest Promoter, having worked with artists like Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, Nick Cave, Arcada Fire and Green Day. Szabolcs has toured in The United States, Japan and across Europe as lead singer in Run Over Dogs. In 2021 the band released a unique, offbeat album with a personal tone to it.

András Bozán Bodrogi

András Bozán Bodrogi is a new media and digital-music business specialist, an expert on video marketing and content management. He has experienced and learned in practice the shift in our music consumption patterns, new platforms and online sales of music since the very beginning of the digital new era of music. As lecturer of the ‘Almost Famous Rock School’ (note:Hungary’s first accredited training programme for music industry management) András is head of the Digital Music Business from A-Z course. Currently he is leading the law management team of The state51 Conspiracy music-tech label and distribution company, while also working as a mentor at the JUMP - European Music Market Accelerator programme, contributing to the development of start-ups in the music industry. He is a regular presenter and lecturer at several Hungarian and European conferences, universities and educational initiatives

“Lóci” Lóránt Csorba

“Lóci” Lóránt Csorba is a Fonogram-award winning songwriter-performer. Lead singer of ‘Lóci játszik’, they won the Nagy-Szín-Pad competition in 2017. He is also the songwriter of the following films:  ‘For some inexplicable reason’, ‘Bad Poems’ and “Seveled”. He graduated university as a Portugal linguistics and film theory major, later on beginning his musician career as a solo guitarist and singer, followed by starting his band ‘Lóci játszik’ in 2014.

Kata Kozma

Kata Kozma is a Budapest based Artisjus Junior Award winning songwriter-producer. Kata graduated as a jazz pianist at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Kata released her track “You & I” in collaboration with one of the most popular figures of the electronic music scene - Flux Pavillon in 2020. Their work is highly acclaimed in the US and Europe as well, now reaching nearly 1.5 million streams on Spotify. Kata is called “one of the most exciting songwriters” of her generation by the international press.

Szabolcs Hujber

Artisjus Award winning songwriter, Szabolcs wrote the lyrics of 2020’s top hit ‘Mostantól’ among many other songs. His process of songwriting is focusing on  the importance of prosody often using natural images to bring popular lyrics closer to poetry. These aspects of his songwriting can all be discovered in the lyrics written for Margaret Island, Zséda or Magashegyi Underground. Szabolcs also examines lyrics from a scientific point of view, as he has a PhD in Applied Linguistics. 

Kamau Makumi

Kamau is a music producer and a songwriter. In addition to being the singer of indie band Mary PopKids he writes/produces music for other artists and for commercials. Having participated in camps in Sweden, Poland, Romania, Taiwan and Budapest, he’s a regular on the songwriting-camp circuit, where songwriters write “hits” for the artists of various labels.

Barbara Schoblocher

Singer, graduated from the jazz faculty, the lead singer of Blahalouisiana band. The group was granted the Artisjus Junior Award in 2019. Currently they are working on their fourth album, which they will record at the MANK art residency house of Galyatető with András Weil in 2021. This time, they will be using digital technology only, allowing more space and time for developing spontaneous ideas, in contrast to their previous analog studio methods.

András Weil

Keyboardist, composer, sound engineer and producer. While performing as keyboardist for bands like The Qualitons, Ivan and the Parazol and Random Trip, András Weil has been working as producer and sound engineer with Sena Dagadu, Ivan and the Parazol, M3NSA, Blahalouisiana. Collaborating with the projection mapping team Limelight as electronic music composer, he is a regular guest of international festivals. As a producer he has an individual music production style, stepping out of the conventional categories of cultural and musical styles and sound recording practices. His attention focuses on understanding the effects music has on feelings, moods and energies. He uses modern, vintage, standard and non-conventional recording tools, always adjusting to the unique aspects of the musical piece he is working on.

Bálint Füstös

Bálint Füstös is songwriter and  guitarist of Margaret Island band, currently working on their fourth album. Bálint is a real team player, he is focused on finding the right voice, character, tone, that supports the given song in the best way. His favorite instrument is the acoustic guitar, he composes his songs with it most of the time. Among other professional recognitions, he was awarded Guitarist of the Year - Petőfi Music Award in 2019, Magaret Island won the Junior Artisjus Award in 2019, and two of their albums (Egyszer volt and III) are Fonogram Award winning records.

Benedek Szabó

Songwriter-lead singer of ‘Galaxisok és a Zombie Girlfriend’, keyboardist of band ‘Bozo’ and bass guitarist of Cz.K. Sebő. His new ambient project came out in March 2020 and an  EP called ‘Forezia Pitok’. He has worked in several big studios over the past few years, however most of his work - for example the 6th album of ‘Galaxisok és a Zombie Girlfriend’ - was recorded and mixed at his home.

Dzsúdló

Marci Juhász has participated in several art projects over the last years, before starting a new path as ‘Dzsúdló’ in 2019, becoming the self-reflective, outspoken pop/trap artist he is, whose first track received thousands of views over a span of a few days. Gaining increasing popularity with his music, Dzsúdló’s track ‘Lej’ has more than 10 million views. He came out with his first album in spring 2020, receiving 700,000+ streams on Spotify, also becoming one of Hungary’s most followed artists. He won the MTV EMA Award in 2020.

Gergely Sára 6363/Gege

Poet, slammer, rapper. As a rapper he has released several albums under the artist name Gege. His latest album ‘Út’ shows a more contemplative approach, mixed with lofi hop hop and trap elements. Gege’s next album will be released by Universal in June 2021.

Iván Vitáris

Artisjus Junior Award winning songwriter, singer. Founding member and lead vocalist of Budapest based rock band Ivan & The Parazol. They've been strongly present in the Hungarian festival and club scene for years, also touring internationally. They have released 4 albums so far, winning the MTV EMA Award in 2013 and nominated for several Fonogram Awards. Besides his music career Ivan works as an industrial designer engineer.

Krúbi

Krisztián Horváth, alias Krúbi is a multiple Fonogram Award winning singer, rapper, composer, songwriter. Initially he did metal music, Krúbi was lead singer of Pregnant Whale Pain. His rap career started in 2017, Krúbi’s first public rap song ‘Nehézlábérzés’ received more than 8 million views on Youtube. Universal Music produced 2 albums and an EP with Krúbi. He is a regular guest of the Hungarian major festival scene. Current politics and public affairs are an important focus of his artistic practice.

Peta Lukács

Peta Lukács is guitarist of Bikini, European Mantra and Ocean Hills. He is also a teacher, songwriter and music engineer at the Kőbánya Music Studio. With thousands of concert performances throughout his career he considers himself a real “concert-musician”, however several of his guitar acts and compositions can be discovered on records as well. Rock and metal music mean the most to him, but he works in a wide spectrum of musical styles from jazz to pop through theatre work.

Péter Egyedi

Songwriter, guitarist, bass guitarist, music director, festival organiser, an active figure of the underground music scene. Currently releasing albums as ‘Mmant’. He has been frontman for ‘Óriás’ since 2007, also a member of ‘Rájátszás’, and has played in bands like  ‘Isten Háta Mögött’, ‘Annabarbi’ and ‘Amber Smith’. Péter is Director of Communication for Fishing on Orfü Festival. As music director he has worked on the following music productions: Óriás, Rájátszás, Mmamt, Sorbonne Sexual, Beckek, Háy Come Beck, Long Story Short, Black Mongo.

We believe in songwriters, and we believe that the success of songwriting depends on connecting talented authors in the Central European region with each other and with the rest of the world. To achieve this, we’re holding the fourth DEX Songwriting Expo where creators can get inspired, learn and make new connections. 

Due to the pandemic we decided to split the conference into two different dates. On May 27th we welcome everyone with online events, and for September 16th we are preparing with a live event at Brody Studios in Budapest.

Participants will have their choice of an expanded set of programs that provides access to professional secrets, best practices of  songwriters and musical professionals through lectures, workshops and individual consultations.

DEX 2021 Online

Due to the pandemic we decided to split the conference into two different dates. On May 27th we welcome everyone with online events, and for September 16th we are preparing with a live event at The Studios in Budapest. Tickets are valid for both events. This year we offer some free programmes as well, which can be easily viewed by joining our Facebook live stream on the 27th of May. Please note that all events of our online edition in May will be in Hungarian. 

On May 27th, the online edition of DEX Songwriting Expo will be held in Hungarian. In September  we will continue to use English as the primary language of the conference. If Hungarian doesn’t mean a problem to you, you are more than welcome to join our online event, here’s how: If you purchased your ticket, you will get a link to the event, where you can watch all presentations, join the workshops and participate in the listening session as well. If you don’t have a ticket, this year we have some free content as well, all you need to do is join our facebook live stream at the DEX 2021 facebook event.

If you have a ticket, you have access to all events, you can be more active by joining the live discussions and Q and A’s, also you can participate in the workshops and listening session. Those who have a ticket also have their place secured for the DEX 2021 September 16th edition.

The 2-day ticket is valid for both DEX events. If you have a ticket, you have access to all online events, you can be more active by joining the live discussions and Q and A’s, while having a chance to participate in the workshops and listening session as well. Those who have a ticket also have their place secured for the DEX 2021 September 16th edition. If you buy your ticket after the 27th of May, we will provide access to all online content, so you can rewatch the workshops as well. 

We offer one type of a ticket – that provides access to both May 27th DEX2021 Online and September 16th. Due to the pandemic regulations and the change in plans that came with it, we are expanding the discount Early Bird price until the 15th of August. 

You can buy your ticket online by clicking on ‘Tickets’ at our website. Your ticket will provide you access to all events on the 27th of May and the 16th of September.

Yes, you can have a full refund in this case as well. Please send us a cancelation request via email (expo@artisjus.com) by the 15th of September the latest.
