György Hegyi (HU)

György Hegyi became known as a lyricist and bass player for Emil.Rulez. He has also written many lyrics and songs for others over the past twenty years or so, and is currently contributing to several albums in the making. As a songwriter-bass player, he is concentrating on his new band TAO that released its concept album Próbaidő (Probation) in March 2022. Together with his co-writers, they won the grand prize at television song contest Dal 2022 with their song Nem adom el (Not selling it), performed by Ibolya Oláh. As a teacher, he runs a lyrics writing workshop and teaches a course on the history of popular music at the Kőbánya Music Studio He is a returning performer at the Orfű Songwriting Camp and a jury member of several music talent contests. He has been conducting interviews with authors for Dal+Szerző songwriters’ magazine for many years. In the past three seasons he was involved in the production of Dalfutár TV programme as a writer-editor. In 2021, he launched the first season of the well-received podcast Szószólók.
